2026 Charity Challenge

The team at Mortgage Required and the Insurance Room are back for another charity challenge!

In 2025, we raised just under £6,000 for a range of charities by taking part in different events and challenges.

These charities and events will be chosen by our team, allowing them to pick something close to their own heart. The cost of the event will be paid for by the individual with Mortgage Required, paying an additional 33 pence for every pound raised. We know charities need our support now more than ever to enable them to carry out their vital work, which is why we are very proud and excited to be continuing to support both local and national charities in 2025!

Over the last four years, we have raised over £23,000 by taking part in various events - you can take a look at those completed in 2023 and 2024 below. Make sure you keep checking back as we are keen to add more for 2025!

2026

Event: 24-hour Exercise Challenge

• Team members: Mortgage Required and Insurance Room Teams
• Date: 12th June 2026
• Charity: Thames Hospice
• Details: We are excited to be taking on another "More Pace Required", and this year we are hoping to make it even bigger and better! 
  

  We have chosen Thames Hospice again this year due to the remarkable care they deliver to our community. They provide palliative and end-of-life care in a safe and caring environment. The Mortgage Required and Insurance Room teams will be taking on a 24-hour continuous exercise, taking it in turns to walk and cycle throughout the day and night to raise funds and awareness for Thames Hospice.

2025

Event: Movember 2025

• Team members: Josh, Sachin, Craig, Jay, and Ben
• Date: November 2025
• Charity: Movember Foundation
• Details: Six members of the MR team took part in Movember during the month of November. It was great to support men's health, tackling critical issues like prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health, and suicide prevention.

Event: 24-hour Exercise Challenge

• Date: 4th July 2025
• Charity: Thames Hospice
• Details: We are delighted to announce that we raised a fantastic £5,689 doing our 24-hour exercise challenge in aid of Thames Hospice. We want to say a massive thank you to everyone who generously donated. A big well done to our awesome team, especially those who powered through the night! Check out a recap of the 24 hours here.

2024

Event: Relay for Life Ascot 2024

• Team members: Tim, Louise, Sarah, Tamzin, Kyna, Becky, Abby & Josh
• Date: 20th/21st July 2024
• Charity: Race for Life, Ascot (Cancer Research)
• Details: Another year, another 24-hour relay! The team raised almost £2,500 by taking part in a range of amusing activities including, dressing up as Sherlock Holmes for "spot cancer early", and getting Josh to dress up as "Miss Relay" during their 24-hour walk - it was certainly an eventful 24 hours!

2023

Event: Walk the Walk 

• Team members: Becky, Anna, Dani, Jess, Tracy, Tamzin and Hafsa
• Date: 20th May 2023
• Charity: Walk the Walk (Breast Cancer Charity)
• Details: The team is thrilled to have raised over £2k for breast cancer on their recent 15.1-mile charity walk through London! They completed the Walk the Walk at the Moonwalk challenge and finished at 4am! Despite having some achy legs and a few blisters, the team did a fantastic job.

Event: Chorley 3 Peaks (+ a little extra!)

• Team members: Steph Cart
• Date: 16th June 2023
• Charity: Cancer Research
• Details: Not only did Mortgage Advisor, Steph walk the Chorley four peaks challenge which is a 20.5-mile walk up and around the peaks of Rivington Pike, Winter Hill, Great Hill, and Healey Nab, but she decided to make it longer to make it the equivalent of a marathon! Steph and her family did an awesome job and raised over £1k for Cancer Research UK in memory of her Aunty Nicky.

Event: Relay for Life Ascot

• Team members: Tim, Louise Sarah, Gemma O, Amy, Mohit, and Zac
• Date: 22nd/23rd July 2023
• Charity: Race for Life, Ascot (Cancer Research)
• Details: Despite the constant rain, this fantastic team powered through and completed the 24-hour relay walking around Ascot Racecourse through the night in a variety of ways including, in fancy dress, three-legged, as well as providing entertainment off the track with 'play your cards right'!
  The team is chuffed to have raised over £2k for Cancer Research - a great way to raise awareness for such an important charity.

Event: Macmillan Coffee Morning

• Team members: All Mortgage Required staff
• Date: 27th September 2023
• Charity: Macmillan Cancer Support
• Details: We held a Macmillan Coffee Morning where several members of the Mortgage Required, and Insurance Room team made and brought in some delicious treats to sell in a bid to raise awareness and funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. Everyone donated generously and enjoyed a plateful of goodies in support of such a fantastic cause. We are pleased to announce that we raised over £100!

Event: Wear it Pink

• Team members: All Mortgage Required staff
• Date: 20th October 2023
• Charity: Breast Cancer Now
• Details: We supported Breast Cancer Now's annual campaign, "Wear it Pink" by donning our pink attire. We had a few pink treats to enjoy and raised over £100 for such an amazing organisation.

Event: Pyjama Appeal

• Team members: All Mortgage Required staff
• Date: November 2023
• Charity: The Baby Bank
• Details: We are proud to be supporting The Baby Bank again this year! Donating to the annual Pyjama Appeal is a fantastic way to help those in need of a little extra help. We made up 15 bagfuls of pyjamas, books, and treats and dropped them off mid-November.
