The awards aim to bring together the business community to celebrate outstanding talent and effort from both businesses and the community.
We are hoping to celebrate inspiring young people and recognise any young person under 18 who has helped to improve the lives of others. This could be, helping young people cope with bullying, disability, medical problems or being an unpaid carer who have shown outstanding levels of care to a loved one, or supporting anyone who faces daily struggles.
Managing Director, Tim said:
“It appealed to us because young people have been through so much – probably more than anyone else over the past three to four years. A lot of young people have sacrificed a large part of their childhood and teen years. They have shown a lot of resilience."
Young people can be nominated perhaps by a parent, teacher, or a club or youth leader.
“We’re looking for people who have battled a bit of adversity, been through a difficult time and turned that into something positive,” said Tim. “It could be for projects in their chosen sector, or someone who has improved themselves and by doing that improved the lives of others around them.”
We are sponsoring the awards in a bid to ‘reach people who have achieved over and above’.
"I think as a business which has worked in the community for 20 years, if you want the community to support you in your business, you first have to support the community, said Tim. “For people who aspire to greater things, it is important to see people being recognised for that.”
The Maidenhead & Windsor Business & Community Awards will take place on Friday, September 22 at the Castle Hotel in Windsor.
The closing date to receive entries is Friday, June 30.
